A Tee Made for a Nation
Each year, June Meeting brings the Unkechaug Nation together on the Poospatuck Reservation for a private gathering rooted in culture, family, tradition, and community.
Through Native Land Cares, we are proud to help create The Nation Tee for June Meeting / Strawberry Festival — a shared design made for Unkechaug Nation tribal members.
This is something Native Land Cares has supported in past years and continues to build on today. A few days before the gathering, the Nation is notified that tees are available. Community members come out, pick up their tees, bring them home, and return to June Meeting wearing the same design together.
That moment matters.
The tee becomes part of the gathering itself — seen across the powwow grounds, in family photos, among dancers, elders, youth, and community members. It creates a shared visual memory of the weekend.
For us, June Meeting is family first. Native Land Cares shows up on the powwow grounds with care, presence, and support — offering the tees, sharing the experience, and standing with the community. Our Native Land children participate, dance, and help carry the traditions forward.

Designed With Meaning
This year’s June Meeting / Strawberry Festival tee was created to feel rooted in the place it comes from.
The Strawberry Moon, the berry, the trees, the water, the shoreline, and the natural landscape all work together to tell a quiet story of season, land, and gathering. Each piece was chosen to reflect the feeling of June Meeting and the world around the Unkechaug Nation here on The Land — Long Island.
The design carries the warmth of the season, the connection to the water, and the woodland spirit connected to the Unkechaug Nation. It is meant to feel familiar — something created from the land, for the people it belongs to.
